SARA BARAS RECIBE EL PRESITIGOSO PREMIO OLIVIER DE DANZA EN LONDRES
Sara Baras recogió anoche en Londres el Premio Olivier de Danza, el más importante de las artes escénicas en el Reino Unido.
La entrega se realizó al finalizar la primera de las seis funciones de la obra ‘Alma’ que la bailaora tiene programadas en el Sadler’s Wells Theatre de la capital británica, en lo que fue la jornada inaugural de la 18ª edición del Flamenco Festival de Londres.
Sir Alistair Spalding, director artístico y CEO del Sadler’s Wells Theatre, y Hannah Essex, co-CEO de SOLT (Society of London Theatre), entregaron este premio a la bailaora gaditana que se mostró visiblemente emocionada de tener por fin entre sus manos tan importante reconocimiento.
Al recibir este premio, que le fue otorgado en 2020 por su anterior espectáculo ‘Sombras’ y que no pudo recoger físicamente entonces debido a la pandemia de Covid-19, Sara Baras se convierte junto a la coreógrafa Tamara Rojo, que lo recibía en 2010, en una de las dos únicas españolas que hasta el momento han logrado tan prestigioso galardón.
Sara Baras seguirá representando en Londres su espectáculo ‘Alma’ todos los días hasta el domingo 9 de julio para después retomar su gira española hasta noviembre, que viajará a Colombia, Perú y Ecuador para presentar su show más aclamado.

SARA BARAS WINS THE OLIVER AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN DANCE
Last night, Sara Baras was awarded the most important performing arts prize in the United Kingdom, The Oliver Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance.
The award ceremony took place at the opening night of the 18th edition of the London Flamenco Festival, at the end of one of six performances of the show ‘Alma’ that Sara Baras has schedule at the Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London until this Sunday.
Sir Alistair Salding, Artistic Director and CEO of Sadler’s Wells Theatre, and Hannah Essex, co-CEO of the Society of London Theatre handed the award to the Spanish artist who was highly emotional for finally having such recognition in her hands.
Sara Bara was originally awarded The Olivier Dance Award in 2020 for her previous show ‘Sombras’ but due to the Pandemic, she was unable to physically receive it. Therefore, Sara Baras has become one of the only two Spaniard, together with choreographer Tamara Rojo who received it in 2010, who have been granted this major award.
Once Sara Baras finishes her shows in London, she will return to Spain to continue with her National tour until November 2023, when she will start her Latin American tour with shows in Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador.
